It’s a negative rake scraper. I often get remarks about how I use a skew on facework. I fully understand why some think it’s a skew but I t’s not a skew! There are no rules on angles or what tool you want to use all woodturners are different so experiment and find what suits you. The angle I grind a skew would not work efficiently as a scraper.
