Calamity Blooms exists on land that has been a part of Kentucky's agricultural heritage for well over 100 years. Before I lived here, this land was farmed through the Depression and for decades after by a mother-daughter duo who raised cattle and crops without any men on the farm. A neighbor once told me they didn't even have electricity until the early 1980s. Two tough chicks, if you ask me. I am so proud to be a Kentuckian and so proud to carry on the tradition of female farming on this specia
