Take in the breathtaking sight of the gigantic Baihetan Hydropower Station, the second largest of its kind in China following the Three Gorges Dam. It is located on the Jinsha River straddling Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. With a height of 300 meters, the dam has 31 sections and is equipped with seven deep spillway tunnels. Recently, the tunnels discharged water for the first time, marking a milestone for the construction project. All power generating units are set to be operational by July 2022
