These are just a few things I don’t miss now that I’ve left Houston and built a life in Colorado Springs: 1️⃣ Sky-high property taxes. In Texas, owning a home meant getting crushed by your tax bill. Colorado’s income tax helps balance it out, so property taxes stay lower… and more manageable long-term. 2️⃣ Suffocating, sticky heat. That Houston humidity used to hit like a wall. Now? I actually enjoy being outside. Colorado has all four seasons and dry air that makes a summer day feel bearable. 3
