PAWS led the campaign for the country’s Animal Welfare Act, and after 13 long years of lobbying, it was finally passed into law in 1998! 💚 This landmark legislation was the first national law in the Philippines dedicated to protecting the welfare of animals. It also made our country the first in Southeast Asia to achieve this milestone. PAWS’ Executive Director, Anna Cabrera, was there alongside then-President Nita Hontiveros-Lichauco and the dedicated PAWS officers and team when the AWA bill w
