The Tennessee Volunteers received some big news following the conclusion of the NBA Draft, as one of the greatest players in program history is set to get a chance in the NBA Summer League. That is as Zakai Zeigler received his call to play with the Detroit Pistons.

The NBA Summer League runs July 10-20 in Las Vegas. President of basketball operations Trajan Langdon has already said he expects last year’s draft picks — forwards Ron Holland II and Bobi Klintman — to take a leading role in Summer League play. Now it looks like the backcourt for the Pistons’ summer roster is settled.

Former Tennessee basketball player Zakai Zeigler was not selected in the 2025 NBA draft. He will play in the NBA Summer League, which takes place July 10-20, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Zeigler will play for Detroit with Vols' teammate Chaz Lanier, who was drafted in the second round (No. 37 overall) by the Pistons.
