Universal Studios Hollywood will be closed Wednesday amid the wildfires and high winds that continue to ravage the Los Angeles area.

The ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles led to the closure of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk for safety reasons.

The wildfires devastating Los Angeles will force Universal Studios Hollywood to shut down Wednesday. The NBCUniversal-owned theme park intends to reopen Thursday, if weather conditions allow. The Universal lot, which borders the theme park, is open to essential employees only, with the studio assisting impacted employees.

Universal Studios Hollywood said “extreme winds and fire conditions" have prompted it to keep its theme park gates and Universal CityWalk closed Wednesday.
