Sluggish Red Sox hope to get a boost from the acquisition of Ryan Noda from Angels after Triston Casas injury.

The Boston Red Sox may not have solved their first base crisis on Thursday, but they made an effort toward doing so. Boston traded cash to the Los Angeles Angels to acquire Ryan Noda. Noda, 29, previously played for the Oakland Athletics.

The Boston Red Sox, who have been without an everyday first baseman since Triston Casas suffered a season-ending injury, have found a potential replacement.
