Thirty-four Australians released from a camp holding families of suspected ISIS terrorists in Syria
Hukmiya Mohamed, a co-director of Roj camp, told Reuters that the 34 Australians had been released to their families, who had come to Syria for the release.
ROJ CAMP, Syria – Syrian Kurdish forces on Feb 16 released 34 Australians who were detained in a camp holding families of suspected ISIS militants in northern Syria, saying they would be flown to Australia from Damascus.
Thousands of accused ISIS militants who were held in detention centers in northeastern Syria have been transferred to Iraq by the U.S. military to stand trial there.
