CHOSITI, India (AP) — Flash floods triggered by torrential rains have killed over 200 people and left scores others missing in India and Pakistan over the past 24 hours, officials said Friday, as rescuers brought to safety some 1,600 people from two mountainous districts in the neighboring countries.

Heavy monsoon floods have killed at least 194 people in the last 24 hours in flash floods and landslides in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

Heavy rains have caused catastrophic flash floods in northwest Pakistan, leaving more than 300 people dead. The monsoon deluge hit the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region with lethal force, leading to substantial loss of life and property.
