As the Trump administration has carried out mass deportations, leaders have flip-flopped on whether to exempt some industries, including agriculture, from raids.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said on Tuesday during a news conference that there will be “no amnesty” for migrants and mass deportations will continue to achieve a “100% American workforce.” Rollins cited the number of adults in the Medicaid program,

But the Trump administration’s own projection is that the giant cuts in Medicaid will result in nobody losing coverage. If true, this would be astonishing, the fiscal equivalent of the immaculate conception.
