Casey Irsay Foyt, the daughter of late Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, will serve as honorary starter for the Indianapolis 500 and wave the green flag on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Jim Irsay took over as owner of the Indianapolis Colts in 1997 and he was in charge of the team for nearly 30 years before passing away on Wednesday at the age of 65.

Jim Irsay grew up in privilege, with his father Bob amassing a big enough fortune to acquire the Baltimore Colts in 1972, when the younger Irsay was 13. But Irsay's involvement with the team, which moved from Baltimore to Indianapolis in 1984,
