The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants against the Taliban’s supreme leader and chief justice for committing gender-based apartheid in Afghanistan.

The ICC’s arrest warrants are a reminder of the Taliban’s gender apartheid regime after years in which the issue has faded from international attention.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for two Taliban leaders in Afghanistan including supreme spiritual leader Haibatullah Akhundzada, accusing them of the persecution of women and girls.
