An explosion in a grain tower at the Perdue Farms feed mill in eastern North Carolina killed one person and injured three others, Hertford County officials confirmed.

As of Monday afternoon, smoke continued to rise from the tower, visible from the south side of the facility where the devastation is most apparent.

One person was killed and three injured in an explosion at the Perdue Feed Mill in Cofield, NC. The facility is closed during the investigation.
