She added, "On Wednesday, it'll be quite hot, but the difference is the heat index won't be as high. In other words, it won't feel like temperatures are in the 100s. It'll feel more like 95-97 degrees, which may not seem like a lot. But when you've had a couple of days of 100-degree heat, it makes a difference."

The heatwave began on Sunday, with high temperatures in the low to mid-90s. Monday and Tuesday look mostly sunny, hot, and humid, with highs in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees, with the heat index making it feel like it is over 100 degrees.
