A new cold front is expected to move across Florida Thursday, pulling moisture north from the Gulf of Mexico, according to the Florida Division of Emergency Management. Showers and thunderstorms are possible along the western Panhandle Thursday across portions of the Big Bend and Northeast Florida Thursday night.

In some parts of Florida, with cold weather comes a falling not of snow, but of 'frozen' iguanas stunned by the cold temperatures.

While it could get cold enough to paralyze iguanas, causing them to fall from trees, there currently is no chance for snow.

A blast of arctic air over the eastern U.S. will bring wintry weather to parts of Florida through the weekend into next week, forecasters said.
