NORMAN, Okla. -- Patty Gasso pulled Jocelyn Alo into her office and told college softball's eventual career home run queen to go home.

Gasso suggested that the NCAA needs to eliminate the "if necessary" doubleheader in the semifinals. She asked reporters in the room if she could "go on a soapbox for a minute," before sharing her idea.

Before departing the 2025 WCWS, the Sooners' legendary coach asked for the NCAA to change one portion of the event to bring more fairness for the teams trying to reach the championship series.
