The Eastern Pacific could see their first storm of the season this week. The National Hurricane Center is watching a broad area of low pressure southwest of Mexico that will enter a more favorable environment for development in the coming days.

Just three days into the official start of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring the first tropical system with potential for development. Although in close proximity to the southeastern United States, the system could gradually develop subtropical or tropical characteristics if it remains offshore.
