Stewart was rated as the No. 17 overall player and the No. 3 edge-rusher in the draft class by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. He played three collegiate seasons at Texas A&M where he recorded 65 total tackles and 4.5 sacks in his career.

The Cincinnati Bengals will have to wait a little longer to get their 2025 NFL Draft picks, Shemar Stewart and Demetrius Knight Jr., on the training field, with their rookie contracts still unsigned

Stewart went No. 17 overall and Knight went No. 49 overall in the draft. Cincinnati has already signed its other draft picks in guard Dylan Fairchild (round 3, No. 81 overall), linebacker Barrett Carter (round 4, No. 119), offensive tackle Jalen Rivers (round 5, No. 153) and running back Tahj Brooks (round 6, No. 193).
