The Chilean government dropped charges against Ethan Guo on Monday as part of an agreement that he donate $30,000 to a children’s cancer foundation.

An American pilot who was arrested upon landing in Chilean Antarctica over 40 days ago says he has still not been allowed to fly out even after his case was suspended. Ethan Guo was trying to become the youngest person to fly solo to all seven continents and raise money for cancer research when he was accused of illegally landing in a Chilean territory in Antarctica.

Ethan Guo, a content creator, said that he has been effectively trapped at a Chilean base since June. The authorities had said he landed there without permission.
