Local TV station owner E.W. Scripps said Tuesday that its board of directors rejected an unsolicited takeover bid by larger rival Sinclair Inc.

TV, had made the hostile takeover offer three weeks ago to acquire rival Cincinnati-based Scripps, including WCPO-TV.
