An ABC 10News crew was at the scene reporting on another story when they saw what appeared to be a military aircraft crash into the water.

The E/A-18G Growler crashed into the water off San Diego after its two aviators ejected. The aircraft is believed to have crashed between Point Loma and Naval Air Station North Island.

Two crew members ejected from a Navy jet before it crashed Wednesday off the San Diego coast and were quickly rescued by a sportfishing boat, authorities said.
