A fire engulfed a building on the Mileground in Morgantown on Monday, slowing traffic and prompting a response by several crews.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Fans wrapped themselves around Hope Coliseum hours before West Virginia women’s basketball was scheduled to tip off against Miami (Ohio) to see the Mountaineers play in their first NCAA Tournament game in Morgantown in 34 years.

The only thing hotter than the crowd inside Hope Coliseum on Saturday was West Virginia’s shooting as the Mountaineers rode one of their most efficient performances of the season to an 82-54 win over Miami (Ohio) in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

The Morgantown Figure Skating Club held their first ever “try figure skating,” event at Hope Gas Ice Pavilion on Saturday morning. This was a free event that taught everyone from toddlers to adults the basic skills of figure skating.
