George Haseotes was a son of Cumberland Farms founders Vasilios Spiros and Aphrodite Bassis Haseotes, Greek immigrants who established a dairy farm in Cumberland, Rhode Island, in 1939.
The industry was a darling of the venture capital world 10 years ago. With many farms out of business, the remaining companies have scaled back.
