Christine Lagarde is about to face scrutiny on her commitment to keep leading the European Central Bank, not least as she nears the milestone of having just about tamed inflation.

European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said on Thursday she was determined to complete her term at the ECB, following speculation she might leave early to take up a role leading the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Asked if the ECB was done cutting rates, Lagarde said: "We are in a good position on the basis of the current trade path and with the 25 basis point cut that we decided, so that we can face the uncertainties that are coming our way. But as you have heard in the monetary policy statement, we will decide meeting by meeting on the basis of data."
