Weather maps issued by forecasters indicate when snow is expected to return to large swathes of the UK, as the cold snap is believed to continue throughout January

New data from WXCharts shows that just 10 cities across the UK are set for more snow in January, with wintery outbursts confined to the north and Scotland. Yorkshire will see snowfall on January 24, with cities such as Leeds, Wakefield, Ripon, Bradford, and York set to see around 2cm per hour from midday.

A number of weather warnings are in place for parts of the UK on Friday, as more snow is forecast to fall across the country and flooding is expected.The Met Office has issued five yellow weather warnings for snow and ice following a days of wintry conditions across the country weather.

The Met Office has issued six separate yellow weather warnings as the UK looks set to be battered by blizzardy conditions once again. There is a yellow alert for snow and ice for northern Scotland until midnight on Thursday and another snow and ice warning for Northern Ireland until 11am on Thursday as sleet and snow showers are set to continue.
