Parts of southeast Texas were under flash flood warnings as excessive rainfall is expected in the Southern Plains states.

The closures stem from storm damage caused by severe weather and a record 12-year rainfall that engorged Perrin Beitel, Salado and Leon Creeks.

San Antonio-area firefighters responded to at least 65 calls for water rescues and one watercraft rescue.
