With the defeat to the Mets on Saturday (8-2), the Rockies lost their seventh straight game and fell to 2-16 under interim manager Warren Schaeffer. Colorado also extended a major league record with its 22nd straight series loss.
By dropping Tuesday's showdown with the Chicago Cubs, the Colorado Rockies made history by locking in their 21st consecutive series loss dating back to last season.
The Rockies have nine wins in their first 54 games of the season. It is a historically bad start. And yet somehow, that record flatters them.
