The New York Yankees put third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. on the injured list with an oblique strain on Friday.

Chisholm, 27, suffered the right oblique strain in the first inning of Tuesday’s win in Baltimore. The Yankees’ training staff checked on Chisholm after a swing, but he remained in the game and doubled. He advanced to third base on an error and exited after a head-first slide.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. went into the MRI room expecting to be cleared to keep playing second base for the New York Yankees.
