Weeks later, on May 7, India launched Operation Sindoor and targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif denied funding terrorists and claimed that the Operation Sindoor has claimed civilian lives in Pakistan.

India has accused Pakistan of attacking three of its military bases with drones and missiles, a claim which has been denied by Islamabad. The Indian Army said it had foiled Pakistan's attempts to attack its bases in Jammu and Udhampur, in Indian-administered Kashmir, and Pathankot, in India's Punjab state.

The escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, two neighbors who have been rivals for decades, erupted in the early hours of Wednesday morning when New Delhi launched missiles across the border.
