There’s more to be done, of course. The iPad Pro M5 supports high refresh rate monitors, but there’s still no option to have it run in clamshell mode. If Apple can make that happen, we could live in a world where your tablet becomes a desktop with a single cable and some Bluetooth accessories.

One of the most noticeable changes to the iPad Pro, starting with the M4 model, is the front-facing camera’s move to the landscape edge for easier video call capture. When the iPad is in landscape orientation, the camera now centers on you rather than capturing you from the left.

With iPadOS 26, Apple redesigned the built-in cursor, putting it on par with that of desktop operating systems. Thanks to its new arrow shape, you can now click smaller buttons more comfortably, even if the touch targets aren’t too wide. To unlock the iPad’s cursor, you’ll first need to pair a compatible mouse or trackpad.
