For craft brewers, an industry largely consisting of small businesses and where the product is made in steel plus packaged in aluminum, the newly applied tariffs are having a direct strike on their bottom lines.

Long Island craft breweries are bracing for higher costs as new and impending U.S. tariffs threaten to drive up prices on aluminum cans and other goods used to produce their brews.

President Trump has also imposed a 25% tariff on all imported aluminum, a tough blow to the canning industry and breweries alike. From canned beers to kegs, the general manager of Voodoo Brewing Company in downtown Erie said the tariff will have a significant impact on their business.
