Indian superstar Allu Arjun was taken into custody by Hyderabad police on Friday in connection with a Dec. 4 stampede that claimed the life of a woman at the city’s Sandhya Theatre. The incident occurred during an impromptu appearance by the actor at a screening of his latest blockbuster “Pushpa 2: The Rule.

Later, an FIR was filed against Allu Arjun and now, on Friday afternoon, he has been arrested by police. Amidst this arrest, actor Varun Dhawan has come out in support of Allu Arjun. Dhawan was at the promotional event of his upcoming movie Baby John in Jaipur.

Allu Arjun has been arrested by the police in connection with a stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. The stampede had left 39-year-old M Revathi dead and her son critical.

Hyderabad cops arrested Pushpa 2 Actor Allu Arjun on December 13 in connection to the death of a woman at the screening of the movie at Sandhya theatre on December 4. The theatre management were also taken into custody.

Cases have been registered against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)

At the event, Allu Arjun also talked about the box office records broken and created by Pushpa 2: The Rule and stated that he holds the love of the fans close to his heart over the numbers which are temporary.
