A strong, 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck in Ethiopia on Friday, according to the United States Geological Survey. The temblor happened at 11:28 p.m. East Africa time about 4 miles northeast of Metahāra, Ethiopia, data from the agency shows.

The epicenter for all the quakes was about one mile east of Hayward, in San Francisco’s East Bay, according to the U.S. Geological Survey

Officials with the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed four earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.7 to 3.7 hit in the East Bay over the course of Thursday.
