SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The organizers behind Comic-Con have agreed to continue hosting the world-renowned pop-culture convention in San Diego through 2027, Mayor Todd Gloria announced Tuesday.

Mayor Todd Gloria said Comic-Con “is part of San Diego’s identity,” nodding to 135,000 attendees who filled the San Diego Convention Center and other venues across the city last year.

This year's event will take place from July 24-27 at the San Diego Convention Center with a preview night on July 23. Last year's Comic-Con International San Diego took place from July 25 to July 28.
