Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid continued to etch his name in the record books on Thursday night, recording two assists against the New Jersey Devils and becoming the third player to reach the 60-assist mark in 2024-25.

For years, Wayne Gretzky stood alone in one of hockey’s most remarkable statistical achievements. But now, he has company. Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid has cemented his name alongside “The Great One” by accomplishing a feat only Gretzky had achieved before recording 60 or more assists in nine consecutive seasons.

Connor McDavid just continues to follow in the footsteps of Edmonton Oilers great and Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky's legacy.
