The LSU Tigers parted ways with former head coach Brian Kelly in October following a 5-3 start to the 2025 college football season. During his tenure at LSU, the former Notre Dame head coach compiled a 34-14 record. However, Kelly's team did not qualify for the College Football Playoff, nor did they win the SEC title.

LSU football's kickoff time against Arkansas has been set. The Tigers will play at 11:45 a.m. CT inside Tiger Stadium on Nov. 15, it was announced Monday. The game will air on SEC Network. It will be LSU's first home game since the firing of head coach Brian Kelly.

Kelly went 34-14 in three and a half years at LSU. Kelly led the Tigers to double-digit wins in 2022 and 2023. The highlight of Kelly's tenure came in year one, when the Tigers upset Alabama on a game-winning two-point conversion in overtime. LSU won the SEC West, but that was as close as Kelly got to winning the SEC.

The firing of the much-maligned Sloan means that Alabama could see a semi-new look attack from LSU. Crimson Tide defensive coordinator Kane Wommack was asked about the challenge of facing a new play caller, with Alex Atkins now in charge of the Tiger offense.
