Vanderbilt baseball coach Tim Corbin has built a winning culture, and Thursday’s quarterfinal win over Oklahoma at the SEC Baseball Tournament was no different.

Led by JD Thompson and Sawyer Hawks, Vanderbilt baseball put up an elite pitching performance in the SEC tournament vs Oklahoma with Tennessee next.

No. 8 seed Tennessee baseball is playing No. 4 Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament semifinals after beating No. 1 Texas 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

RJ Austin and Brodie Johnston were both named to the SEC's All-Defensive team. The pair helped lead Vanderbilt to a .982 fielding percentage, seventh best in NCAA DI. Johnston was also named to the SEC's All Freshman team after leading all SEC freshman in home runs with 12. His 51 RBIs led the Commodores and was second in the league for freshman.

The Commodores won 12 of their final 16 SEC games, including a road series win over Tennessee. In total, Vanderbilt won six of its 10 SEC series with four sweeps: at home over Georgia, Texas A&M and Kentucky and on the road over Florida.
