NEW YORK – Speedy and versatile infielder Jose Caballero was traded to the Yankees late Thursday afternoon, moving all the way from the visiting dugout. During the Yankees’ afternoon game against the Tampa Bay Rays at the Stadium, Caballero learned he’d been dealt to the home side – receiving hugs and well wishes from his old teammates.

In the middle of their four-game series finale Thursday afternoon, the Yankees and Rays finalized a deal to send Tampa Bay utility man Jose Caballero to New York. The Rays will receive outfielder Everson Pereira and a player to be named later from the Yankees.
