Shohei Ohtani unanimously wins 4th MVP award, second-most in MLB history behind Barry Bonds
And like in the other three times he won MVP, he did so unanimously with all 30 BBWAA votes, beating out second-place Kyle Schwarber and third-place Juan Soto. He is the first player to ever win MVP unanimously four times. He celebrated by giving his dog Decoy, and not his wife Mamiko, a kiss.
The BBWAA will hand out its final set of awards for the 2025 season on Thursday night when it reveals the Most Valuable Player from each league -- and it saved perhaps the most intriguing race for last.
