Howden, Vegas’ fourth-line center, has made for an unlikely hero in the series now with a pair of game-winning goals. He’s also tied for the team lead with Tomas Hertl with three postseason goals.

LAS VEGAS -- Brett Howden scored at 4:05 of overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 win against the Minnesota Wild in Game 5 of the Western Conference First Round at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday. Howden roofed a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle off a backhand pass from Tanner Pearson, who was below the goal line.

Minnesota goalie Filip Gustavsson was replaced after two periods Tuesday night because of what the team called an illness, putting Marc-Andre Fleury in net for the Wild to face the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 of their playoff series.
