Behind 19 points from Jeremy Fears Jr., Michigan State remained perfect with a win over 17th-ranked North Carolina at the Fort Myers Tip-Off.

Michigan State capped a turkey trip with a tournament title. The No. 11 Spartans (7-0) held off No. 16 North Carolina (6-1) for a 74-58 win in the championship game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off on Thursday night.

This is already MSU's third win over an AP Top-25 opponent this season. Last season, the Spartans' third such win came on Feb. 18, for perspective. Additionally, this is the program's first 7-0 start since the 2015-16 season.

The 11th-ranked Spartans pushed aside No. 16 North Carolina, 74-58, for their third victory against a ranked opponent this season already. MSU didn’t get its third top-25 win until mid-February in 2024-25. It's 7-0 for the first time in 11 years.
