Rescue workers on Saturday continued their frantic search for survivors of the deadly and historic floods unleashed when the Guadalupe River burst from its banks in Kerr County on Friday. At least 24 people have died, and more than 20 girls from a private Christian summer camp were still missing.

The death toll from sudden floods in the Texas Hill Country rose to 24 Friday night, officials said, as the search for more than 20 people missing from a girls summer camp continued through the night.

Multiple fatalities have been confirmed and frantic water rescues and searches were underway Friday as a "catastrophic" flooding emergency unfolded.
