TORONTO — Infielder Kazuma Okamoto and the Toronto Blue Jays finalized their $60 million, four-year contract Sunday. Okamoto will get a $5 million signing bonus, a $7 million salary this year and $16 million in each of the following three seasons.
Japanese free agent slugger Kazuma Okamoto is running up against his deadline to a sign a big-league contract, as his posting deadline expires on Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. ET. If he's unable to agree to a contract, he'll return to Japan's NPB, but that is unlikely, meaning that a deal should come down at any minute.
