Kylian Mbappe was released from the hospital Thursday after being treated for an acute case of gastroenteritis. He trained at the club's hotel Friday.

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has confirmed the club are hopeful of welcoming Kylian Mbappé back to action for the final Club World Cup group game against Red Bull Salzburg. Mbappé missed Madrid’s opener against Al Hilal with an illness which later required a short spell in hospital.

Kylian Mbappe had missed Real Madrid’s opening game of the FIFA Club World Cup against Al-Hilal and was admitted to a hospital on Thursday for a bout of gastroenteritis.
