The NFL's first full preseason slate is well underway. The big story Friday was Shedeur Sanders, who finished his night 14 of 23 for 138 yards and two touchdowns, and added 19 yards on the ground on four carries. All in all, it was a promising preseason debut for the rookie fifth-round pick.

Travis Hunter, Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart feature a star-studded cast on NFL rookie's in Week 1 of the preseason schedule.

• Mason Rudolph, not Aaron Rodgers, started at quarterback for the Steelers. That's not a big surprise, Rodgers' only preseason action since 2018 was a brief outing for the Jets two years ago. It's possible Rodgers won't play at all this preseason, even though he's with a new team. Rudolph completed 9-of-10 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.
