Aug 7 (Reuters) - American fourth seed Ben Shelton battled from a set down to clinch his first ATP Masters 1000 title at the Canadian Open in Toronto on Thursday, defeating Russian 11th seed Karen Khachanov 6-7 (5) 6-4 7-6 (3).

Karen Khachanov lost to Ben Shelton in the Canadian Open final on Thursday, as the American won his first ATP 1000 title and secured a record $1,124,380 prize.
