One tour per day at 10 am. Reservations fill up fast at the Visitor Center. Best to schedule a few days in advance now thru September 30. Full review by Edith S

Thank you for your question. The Overlook for the Eagle Butte Coal Mine is located on Hwy 14-16 just past the Gillette Campbell County Airport on the same side of the road. There is no charge to go to the overlook. For the actual Coal Mine tour that leaves from the Gillette Visitor Center that tour is $5 per person for a two hour tour, and we provide the transportation to and form the Eagle Butte Coal Mine. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at the Gillette Visitor Center at 307-686-0040.

Sorry, I have no idea. You might try contacting the tourist office there. Their office sells the tickets and that's where we met to go on the tour.

Coal Mine Tours to some of the largest surface coal mines in the world are offered through the Gillette Visitor's Center at 1810 S Douglas Highway Suite A. The tours are offered Monday through Friday and are approximately 2 hours long they start at 9:30 am or 11:30 am throughout the summer. The tour is $5.00 per person (cash or check only please).
